Plantation South HOA Board Meeting Minutes, February 22, 2026
The HOA Board met in the upstairs hall of the East building on February 22, 2026. BOD members present were:
. Don Wilson— Chairman
. Linda Wood —Chief assistant
. Ron Duer—Member at large
. Pat Hawley—Treasurer
. Buffy Berry—Secretary
Our meeting opened with prayer.
Finances
1. The HOA has $7,637.00 in the bank.
New Business
1. The elevator in the west building has had recurring issues. The repairman has attempted to fix it several times, and it is still inoperable. The last diagnosis is that the switch is broken. To replace it, it will cost $1,895.26. It was suggested that the company should not charge a service fee as the visits have been less than a 90 day period and the elevator still has not been fixed.
2. The side parking area of the west building will be paved and striped for $875.
3. Ron went over the Rockwood Creek Bridge repair estimate.
The estimate for repair would be $2,033.00 with Ron doing the work himself. He gave out a print out itemizing the cost of materials and labor. The board members decided to move ahead with this project.
4. Ron had made a chart of what condo had what keys. This is still a work in progress as there is still some confusion about the keys. We will ask the fire marshall to come out again to work on this.
5. Work will be done to complete the prayer garden adjacent to the east building. The cost and labor of putting out the stones was discussed and a hope of a hydrangea to be planted at the entrance.
Hopefully this project will be completed in time for a Memorial Day ceremony.
6.The plan is for each floor to have a fire extinguisher and each condo a fire blanket. It was decided to have the fire marshal to come out to educate us on fire safety strategies.
7. Ron will devise a new group text to make communicating easier.
8. Linda will create a directory of those in the Plantation community who would like to be included. At this time only Plantation North and Plantation South want to be listed.
Compliments were given to Ron for all of his hard work for our community.
We closed in prayer and the meeting was adjourned.
